Day 6
The final day of week one was very productive, even with some moving around of baseball games and practices. I was able to organize myself for what I had completed this week, as well as organize myself for next week.

This was an important step to get done today, because there is rain in the forecast for most of next week and I can use those days to do my wood work that I need to get done in the Proctor wood shop.
As the day started to get better around 4:00pm, I was able to get outside and prime my first chair. I first cleaned and dusted off the chair, and I was able to spray the first of two coats of primer on my first chair. To me, this was the first reassuring step that truly made me feel like I am making good progress on my project.

This brings my total hours to 15

During day 6, I spent time cutting wood slats in order to test the fit in the chair. For this I used Pine because I am only using it as a test, and it is substantially less expensive than the Mahogany I will use for the final product.
Here is the picture of the 36" slat that I found to be a perfect fit. I will need about 15 or 16 of the slats to make up the final chair.
