Day 3

So far, day 3 turned out to be the best day. With two previous days being limited by the weather, today I was able to get outside and continue my work with scraping and brushing the chairs.

Todays project was to finish the scraping of all flaky paint chips, and to start the polishing process in order to get ready for a new layer of paint. As you can see on this picture, there was plenty of work to do to smooth out all of the flaking paint.

In order to do this, I have been using a Dremel multi-tool with a scraper attachment to make this process go faster and more efficiently.

For my second part of day 3 I began to polish the chairs with a rotating brush head attached to a drill. This process I used was very effective to remove the remaining paint on the chairs, and to allow for a perfectly smooth finish on the chairs before I begin painting them myself.

On the left is a picture before polishing.

On the right and below are pictures after polishing.

At the end of day 3, I had put in 3 hours of work.

This brings my total hours to 7.5

Completed:
1.  Remove flaking paint on the second chair.
2.  Start the process of polishing the chairs before primer and paint.

Tomorrows tasks (weather permitting):
1. Finish polishing chairs.
